Great service & fine course

We want to send a huge thank you to your “bartender” Claire and her colleague (unfortunately we didn’t got her name) for the service and friendly welcome we got last Tuesday. We surely enjoyed your fine course as well and will recommend it to our golfing friends in the future. Best regards from the 7 Swedes threw Lars Martinsson

Amazing Links Golf

Thank you so much for allowing me to play your golf course. It was a wonderful experience, playing golf in Scotland on such an old historic course. I was late getting to Fraserburgh as we had to drive across Scotland from Annan earlier that day but, the nice lady at the bar set me up with rental clubs and a sleeve of golf balls and a pull cart (as I really wanted to walk the course) and I teed off around 4:45pm. Finished about 7:15pm – I was able to play quickly as I was the only person on the entire course. Amazing. The highlights were that I did not lose any golf balls and I made one birdie. Lipped out on another hole for birdie and had a number of other looks 15 feet or so but couldn’t get them to drop. Too many bogeys including the two holes where I hit into greenside bunkers and on both occasions it took me two shots to get out but, the second shots were both good enough to have virtual tap-in putts for those bogeys. I took a bunch of photos and am including a couple here as I shared these with my golf buddies already. 7472 shows #16 and probably the closest I came to losing a ball – hit a real nice drive and expected it to bounce right off that hill, maybe into the fairway but, it became apparent that if you hit into the rough, the ball just stopped (but thankfully usually sat up) in the long grass. 5795 is a beautiful view I believe back to #2 green with the town and the North Sea off in the distance – I’m sure you never tire of that view. 3948 is a selfie of me on the first green, all smiles. Thanks again!

Pure links golf

I live in the US and wanted on the occasion of my 60th birthday, to play the greatest links golf courses in Ireland, Scotland and the UK. I played 32 rounds of golf in 33 days on the greatest golf courses on Earth. One morning I arrived at the Fraserburgh Golf Club on a fog filled morning. Two cars in the parking lot I trundled inside to meet a woman making preparations for the day. She gave ma a scorecard and directed me to the first tee. I found the first tee and thought, wow this is a straightforward, ordinary hole. At number two I knew I was in for a wild ride. I hit my drive uphill, way uphill, to the middle of the fairway. I was confused as the only hole I could see was impossibly uphill and so far away. What a great par four!! I’d love to play number 2, 18 times in a row. From # 2 the golf course got great, not good. What a fabulous golf course, which is a blast to play and a privilege to walk such beautiful links land. I love Fraserburgh, and it’s fabulous golf course. Heaven would to be to play this course everyday then eat the bounty from the North Sea, Monkfish, Halibut and Cod. DOn’t pass up Fraserburgh if you are anywhere near it. Otis Aust Atlanta GA, USA

A classic links course

It was a classic links course with great scenery overlooking the sea. The greens were a little slow and we did not have a key for the course toilet.

Hidden gem

I did a 6 week trip in Scotland last year. The hospitality at Fraserburgh was far and above the best I experienced. Get in touch with them if you are looking at it, and the course is a massive hidden gem!

Great course

Very nice day while playing here, we were made very welcome and members chatted away. Course really good, on a small issue, toilet on the course no water due to being shut off over the winter.

Great value

My mate & I played yesterday and the course looked great. A lot of work been done over the winter and rough cut back. Great value for £10 special deal.

All round enjoyment

Both Neil and I would like to extend our sincere thanks for a superb day at Fraserburgh on Saturday. We have rarely received such as warm and hospitable welcome from so many people at a golf club. Everyone was wonderfully friendly and welcoming, and the overall experience was excellent. It seemed like so many member of the club, the committee and the staff, had put themselves out on our behalf. We very much enjoyed the course and had a great time during our round. We appreciate we had relatively benign conditions – we shall just have to return another time to find out what the wind can do! We were both hitting relatively straight on Saturday but I am sure a bit of wind could easily change that. Lunch was excellent and we appreciated the catering staff be kind enough to wait for us. We would like to thank everyone who was part of the day for us – from the Vice Captain, committee and club members, to the administration, bar staff and catering – for making us feel so very welcome and leaving us with such as positive impression of Fraserburgh Golf Club. Thank you also to the club and committee for all the very kind courtesies extended to us throughout our visit. I will not hesitate to recommend the course, and the clubbhouse team, to our clients. As a visitor experience we felt the set up was very good – course signage was extremely visible and made it relatively easy for a newcomer to have confidence finding their way around the course. Thank you again, and we hope to be able to send some clients your way, as well as return ourselves in the not too distant future.

Friendliness in the clubhouse, lovely challenging course. We will definately be back playing here. The day itself was challenging due to high winds but the Fraserburgh members gave us a very warm welcome. It was great playing the ‘7th oldest club in the world’. I chose Fraserburgh as our group try to play every course in Scotland.

Traditional links

Great links and very affordable. Traditional out and back with plenty of interesting holes and well tended greens. Not terribly long but very interesting and lots of fun. If you find yourself in the area, give it go – you will not be disappointed. Very nice clubhouse and helpful staff.

I want to express my gratitude to you and the club once more for the wonderful gesture. We received a more than warm welcome in the clubhouse, including meeting your club captain Gerry. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed playing your beautiful course and I will recommend it to any golfer who hasn’t played it yet!

Friendly Staff

Many thanks for all the warm hospitality you & your staff gave us on Saturday. My son Jeff was certainly right in that you have a very enjoyable & fine links course. Loved those wonderful dunes! I hope I will have the opportunity to return your thoughtful kindness someday.

Recommend

On behalf of all of our party, I should like to thank you all for making us feel so welcome and looking after us in such a hospitable fashion. I would have no hesitation in recommending fellow golfers to play at any of your golf courses and I would thoroughly recommend you to point fellow travellers to stay with Lucy Taylor at the Kilmarnock Arms at Cruden Bay as it is probably the best hotel for food, comfort and service that our party have stayed at in the 20 years we have been going on our golf tours. Please pass my remarks on to all your staff. Thank you.

Myself and three friends visited your course on a lovely sunny September morning. Your course is simply wonderful and your welcome was fantastic. I hope to return next year to sample more truly great links golf.

Great links course

Had the great pleasure of playing the course and cannot speak highly enough of the warmth received by members and staff, the challange of the course, which was in fantastic condition. If you want to sample true links golf, then you must make a visit, you will not regret it for one moment, just wonder why you had not visited it sooner in life.

Natural links golf

“As an annual golfing visitor to Scotland for the last number of years, this was my first visit to Fraserburgh Golf Club. I must say I was very impressed by the course here. Its a true natural links in excellent condition, a stiff challenge of all aspects of your game. The clubhouse experience is just as good with the friendly staff eager to help and assist. I will be back again for sure and would strongly recommend a visit to Fraserburgh Golf Club. A great golfing day!” Anthony Mills PGA Pro Sandhill Golf Range South Yorkshire
